Fieldtrip to Garrapata Creek Beach

Today we will take a walk on the beach near Garrapata Creek, south of Carmel.  The geology is spectacular.  There will be plenty of time for data collection and discussion.  We will have a chance to map a small section of the coast and analyze the geologic history of an area based upon a stratigraphic column that you construct.  This will be a chance to digest much of the fundamental geological work we have done in the class, and to expand into new ideas.
